Miniature Car
Orford Ness, Suffolk
late 20th century
Cars were icons of the Oil Age and potent emblems of status, enabling speed, independence and travel. However, they also rendered public spaces unsafe, particularly for children and animals. This miniature may have been a male fertility symbol.
On loan from Fran Crowe / The Museum of Beyond.
